The management and team at Chillout Productions, passionate about Jazz
and music, felt that there was a gap in the market for Jazz and similar
genre of music in the region.
Based on extensive research conducted over two years, the theme of “Much
more than Jazz” was introduced for the first time with the initiating
of the Dubai Jazz Festival, which has now grown to an annual icon
featuring world-class artists and performers.
It covers all genres of Jazz music as diverse as blues, funk, swing, acid, rock, contemporary, modern and fusion.
Dubai Jazz Festival featured a chilled atmosphere with comfortable seating and seating-free zones and alongside a specially created Food and Beverage zone by InterContinental Hotel-Dubai Festival City hosting 27 international bands and attracting a large crowd topping 46,000 fans throughout 9 nights!

The Dubai Jazz Festival is not only a music festival, but also a system for bringing Jazz to large audiences that wouldn’t normally hear it.
The concept was based on two elements: corporate sponsorship, and programming that combines Jazz and other music genres.
Its aim was to be the most exciting, groundbreaking and accessible festival of the performing arts in the region, promoting a diversity of cultural music genres, and presenting the highest possible international standard to the widest feasible audience.
Dubai Jazz Festival successfully evolved throughout its existence expanding its artists’ roster to cover nearly every imaginable music style.
Dubai Jazz Festival did not limit its content and structure to the commonly known concerts; it was continuously expanding by adding creative activities to its bills.
The Jazz Garden concept, first launched in 2009, was a newly created concept that added a great charm and coziness to the overall atmosphere inviting fans to enjoy the best jazz rhythms featuring a different music culture for each edition.
The festival also launched the first edition of the Jazz World – a fresh creative concept of street entertainment, with free concerts for all, preceding the Jazz Garden activities and the main concerts.
As part of its mission, the festival welcomes yearly a remarkable number of proficient craftsmen looking forward to being part of this event since it combines not only music but multi-artistic elements and receives appreciative audience of all kinds of human creativity, whether it is music, unique crafts, photography, sculpture and painting.
